Macquarie Asset Management’s Green Investment Group (GIG) and Galway Sustainable Capital (Galway) today announced the close of a $US250 million investment by GIG via the Macquarie Green Investment Group Energy Transition Solutions (MGETS) fund in Galway Sustainable Capital, a specialty finance company. Galway invests in companies, projects, and assets with a goal of accelerating the energy transition and deployment of sustainability and resiliency-focused solutions globally.
Galway is focused on modular, distributed, and localized projects with a typical individual investment of $US50 million and under. Founded in 2020 with equity from Cordillera Investment Partners, Galway provides flexible, full stack capital solutions to support companies, developers and sponsors that are accelerating the transition to environmental and social sustainability. Galway has deployed more than $US250 million to date across 29 individual investments. Galway’s key investment themes of renewable energy, energy efficiency, green buildings, clean transportation, and circular economy solutions align with GIG’s mandate and are expected to drive the next phase of energy transition.
