GIG portfolio company Corio Generation joins forces with TotalEnergies and Qair to bid for Mediterranean Tender

09 August 2022

GIG portfolio company Cero Generation is joining forces with TotalEnergies and Qair to submit a bid to develop two floating wind farms in the Mediterranean Sea.

The consortium has been pre-selected by the French Directorate General for Energy and Climate (DGEC) to participate in the competitive tender to build two projects totalling 500 MW.

According to the French Government, the two 250 MW projects could supply enough clean energy to meet the annual electricity consumption of almost one million French citizens[1].

The consortium’s bid is based on a strong ongoing partnership that includes their response to a 250 MW floating wind farm tender in the South Brittany region. Qair and TotalEnergies are developing the 30 MW EolMed floating offshore wind pilot project in France, while Corio and TotalEnergies are developing over 2 GW of floating wind projects in South Korea, the 2 GW West of Orkney Windfarm project in Scotland and the 1.5 GW Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind project off the east coast of England.

Corio Generation is a GIG portfolio company operating on a standalone basis.
